Dr. Sallie Skinner
Having grown up in the Comox Valley, Sallie worked in a variety of fields before settling into medicine, including as a court reporter, snowboard coach, and policy researcher. She attended UBC’s Northern Medical Program in Prince George, focusing on rural health and subsequently completed a clerkship year in Cowichan’s Integrated Community program. Following a maternity leave spent in Cumberland and graduation from UBC, she was thrilled to be accepted to the Strathcona Family Medicine Program, and even more thrilled to join the diverse and team-based environment at Westward as a Resident Physician to complete her training. She hopes to stay in the Comox Valley and continue to pursue her interests in Addictions Medicine, Women’s Health, and Urgent/Emergent care. Outside of medicine, Sallie enjoys spending time with her family, fixing up her fixer-upper house, and all the board sports on offer.
